My mother, (along with Abby and James, and Bethany), attended a Passover meal at the home of our friends, Hazel and Neville last night. Hazel is Jewish; she has been a member of the church for over 40 years, but she honours her heritage each year by sharing a Passover meal with a group of people they have invited over. It's a very interesting night.
Before going out, Mum sat out in the back yard for a while, enjoying the forest behind our fence. She even managed to spot a koala high up in one of the trees not far from our property line.
Then this morning at a family breakfast in Daisy Hill Forest, close by our home, Mum enjoyed hand-feeding one of the almost tame walabies (a small kangaroo), there.
For the rest of the day - we all did some yard work together for a couple of hours, enjoyed a lamb pot roast for lunch, then went into the city to check out the South Bank markets. We found one stall that sold 'buttons'. Some of the ones we liked (and that I can remember) were:
'They can make me go to Uni., but they can't make me think' (Bethany bought it for herself!)
'Without me, you're just Aweso' (Ben bought it to wear)
'I dream of a world where a chicken can cross a road without having its motives questioned'
'vegetarians are eating our rainforests'
'I do not think therefore I may not be'
Good times! I liked the secret sibling part as well, it was fun to be stealthy and stretch budgets, then to reveal what everybody got for each other, and funny in the end that it didn't seem to matter who had $4 to spend and who had $8! I'm glad we got to tick Daisy Hill Forest off the list also. Yesterday and today haven't been bad either, looking forward to tomorow! :) xoxox

ReplyDeleteBut I thought the firelighting at the park was funny too! Did you just forget to mention that? ;)
I've never done the wallabies at Daisy Hill Forest first thing in the morning thing! I was really suprised by how tame they are! Very cool :)
