I am writing this just to change my page from the last post! (It turns out that people can do the foot thing afterall - Abby and James both showed me that they have no trouble at all!)
I haven't been writing because there have been too many other things happening. (The sort of things that I suspect causes real writers to get going and write more, and the not-so-real ones to fall away into paths of washing loads and family dinners etc.)
I've been working, (rather urgently), on my List. (See -)http://sandragmunro.blogspot.com/2009/05/only-three-days-behind.html
My real list keeps getting bigger, of course, but I'm not writing it down anymore because some of my much loved and loving but bossy family members continue to take exception to various items. (I think the number of items is their main objection :P )
Tax season begins on Wednesday. Big Landscaping Day is on this Saturday and I still need to organise it all: plan, peruse, procure, purchase and positively not procrastinate!
The Priests and Laurels' Ball is on the following week and I'm doing quite a bit more to help with that than I had originally planned :) One of the extra things I am doing is to collect together a group of about 25 Young Single Adults to help on the night with waiter/waitress service. I didn't set out to do this particularly, but find that my almost-completed list resembles a pretty good 'who's who' of the best of the eligible returned missionaries in our area. Any girls that are a part of this group are going to be pretty happy with my selections! :) Bethany will be one of them, and should enjoy the opportunity to work with at least 5 young men that she has dated or is currently dating, as well as to meet a few new prospects :) I'm hoping that I am not so busy on the night with the food and everything else, that I don't have time to look up and have a smile or a giggle now and then :) (I'm going to put 'grow up, Mum' on next year's To-Do list. If I have room :)
Life is good - busy but good. I have been reading some good books - slowly though. I read them in the moments when I am cleaning my teeth and drying my hair. (I need a haircut but then I wouldn't need so long to dry my hair!) I've considered trying to use the time while I am driving about but have had to discount that for obvious reasons... I love spending time with our fabulous family.

(Bethy is the one in green. She is with Abby and my mother, and Abby pretending to be my mother back in her modelling days! :)
Being nepotistic giving Bethany a place to waitress with the 20 RM's you lined up? More Mrs Bennet-esque... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you finally put at the end that I was imitating Grandma! There was no actual reason to put those photos there, was there?
James thinks you're doing a crazy amount with the ball. We're all used to it and will do our best to help, but please don't kill yourself!!
Hope all is well, see you in the morning!!! :) xoxox
Haha, Abby! Of course there was a reason! I think they're funny!! :)
ReplyDeleteJames is very sweet. He doesn't know the half of it though. I think I may also be sewing costumes for all the wait staff - if I can't find anyone elso to..
What's in the morning..?
xxoo
forget the costumes. the preists and laurels wont care if they don't have costumes! :)
ReplyDeletemum, they're yucky photos!! :( :S
also, i didn't tell you this before because i felt guilty, but i actually got to all the boys first. i told them about your assignment and they said no. But then i said i would be there and gave a little eye-flutter-and-smile combo, and then they each quickly cleared their throats and said they could probs make it. i just told them not to tell you i had talked to them, that way you wouldn't have to feel the rejection. see? i totally help you more then i get credit for!!
much love :) xox
I've tried reading while I drive. It doesn't work very well. I thought it would work in Peak Hour Traffic, but you have to keep looking up to move another centimetre forward, and if you don't, the person behind you honks, so it's 'read 5 words, look up, look down, read 3 words, honk, look up, drive forward 1cm, look back down, read 5 words' cycle starts again. It's frustrating. A lesser person wouldn't have persisted so dedicatedly... but I'm no lesser person :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think you made it clear enough that you're helping so much with the ball purely because you KEEP VOLUNTEERING FOR STUFF!
(I'm one of those people who keep protesting to mum's list... but only because everytime she volunteers for something - we all get volunteered for something! There's your nepotism! :) Lucky we love you so much!)
Oh, and I think the photos of abby actually like her normal self were a lovely touch to this post :)

I thought these photos were funny Beth not yucky. I liked looking at them! Why do the waiters and waitresses need costumes? Im sure they can wear black if you want them to all look the same, but it sounds like your putting more on your plate then you have to!
ReplyDeletePS. I'm sorry I won't be able to be there to help with placing the food! I was just reminded of a family member's party on that same night. (Name kept secret as its a surprise party even though she probably will never read this comment) Im so sorry! I really need to keep an organizer so I stop double booking myself. Anyway I will talk to you Sunday, maybe there is something else I can help out with instead?
Hi, I'm sorry. I must be in the wrong place. I was looking for SANDRA and blog entries WRITTEN by Sandra...
ReplyDeleteCome on mum! :)
