Friday at the Grand Canyon

Tammy:

Ben thinks: it's a hole
(Best big hole he's ever going to see!)
Ben feels: Miniscule.

Oliver thinks: We should build a flying fox over the canyon. He's almost got it worked out.
Oliver feels: He says he feels small next to it.

Dad thinks: He told you last time. Breathtaking!
Feels: Relaxed.

Mother thinks: I wonder if I turned off the iron before I left home?
Mother feels: Aahh. Happy smile! (I think I did :)

Today, Friday, at the Grand Canyon:

Woke up a bit better (jet lag has been a problem. That, or we are all just very lazy :)

Did some washing.

All went to see the Grand Canyon movie at the Imax theatre. Fun. Almost hit our feet on an outcrop of rock. Made it to the end of the movie safely.

Caught a bus to the Eastern end of the Canyon walks. Enjoyed hiking back to the main area, a few miles away, along the eastern rim. Took some great photos. Dad went and sat away a bit so that he would not have to watch through some of the more daring ones!

Hiking down the Angel trail into the canyon a little way.

Have had a nice dinner and are happily now heading back to our cosy cabin to get into pj's, snuggle into bed, drink hot chocolate and watch something on tv together. (I've also got a book to read and Oli and Ben are SuDoku-ing it in a big way.

We're having fun :) Bonding. Eating :) Walking/hiking. Saw deer, goats, squirrels and a huge black bear so far. Kidding about the bear :)

(This costs us a fortune whenever we log on - it's actually the way the rangers at the GCanyon finance all the programs and conservation at the park, so please forgive us if we are brief, don't currently have time to check emails, and are really boring - can I blame that on it too? Please? :)
