I Think There's a Deeper Metaphor in This....

There are no rules about what I can put on my blog are there? (Apart from the obvious - no photos of me or Tammy :)!

Because Tammy just sent me this on email - and I think it's hilarious - it made me laugh and laugh. (Leah, I really want to see you trying this! Bec, Kaili, Lizzie too! :) Here goes:

HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

This is hysterical.
You have to try this. It is absolutely true. It only takes 2 seconds..
I guess there are some things that the brain cannot handle.
It is from an orthopaedic surgeon..
This will confuse your mind and you will keeptrying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It is pre-programmed in your brain!

1. While sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your rightfoot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your righthand.

Yourfoot will change direction. I told you so! And there's nothing you can do about it!
You and I both know howstupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

  1. I know! It totally cracked me up! I just tried it again and if I concentrate really hard, and go really really slowly, then I can manage a mangled triangle type shape in the correct direction with my foot.

    That's it.

Oliver reckons he can do it though! I say 'Prove it Oli'

    :) xo Tammy

  2. Ha Ha, Oliver can't do it. He was doing it with his leg, not his foot. When I got him to do it with his foot only he couldn't.

Yeah, I failed at this one. Guess there are some things you just aren't able to do.

  4. HAHAHA

    I CAN!!!!!!!!
I showed jonny last night but then he very rudely told me i was doing it wrong (I was rotating my entire lower leg)after he pointed this out, he told me how to do it right. Which i couldn't do......yet

But today I've been practising (It's very sad I know) BUT I succeeded in being able to do it properly this time (WAHOO)!!

So to sumarise - I could do it, then I couldn't and now I can

    Can you?

  5. Um I can do it, so can James! I guess we're just smarter. I was doing it thinking it was one of those things everyone can do, so you just look dumb for trying so hard, but no, it turns out we just have superior coordination! I just showed mum 5 times because she didn't believe me! I believe you Oli!!! :) xoxoxox

  6. I can't do it!!! Not properly anyway. I'm going to try it on Dave.. he will probably insist he can do it, though his circle will look more like a triangle and his 6more like an 8 :D
