The Abby and Maggie Afternoon Tea Baby Shower

In November last year we had a Afternoon Tea Baby Shower at home for Abby and her first baby, (the future, gorgeous Maggie Sandra Easthope). It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a happy time with family and friends.

I had fun making the nappy cake and covering it with all sorts of PINK! bits and pieces....
I also made a book for 'advice on motherhood' that all the guests at the shower contributed to. (on the left)
The little box on the right is for the cards everyone helped to make - enough for Abby and James to give Maggie for the first 21 birthdays. Everyone who made a card signed their name on the back, as a nice keepsake reminder of who was at the shower.
Cardmaking was on the back veranda, before we came inside for a couple of games, like 'Baby Madgab' which had all made-up phrases, like:

Farm Hill Ease Afar Eve Are
(families are forever) and:
Jay Emma Ease Gong Tubby Added
(James is going to be a dad) and:
A Beesa Gull Owing
(Abby's glowing)

The menu was expansive, with scones and pikelets with clotted cream and home-made raspberry jam; more than a dozen different mini sandwiches and savouries; mini homemade biscuits, slices, profiteroles, tarts, strudels, mousse, cheesecakes, brandy snaps; fresh cherries and berries; with fruit punch and hot chocolate. Yum! (Everything was homemade, but I had great help in the kitchen from Tammy, Bethany, Neil :)

Three of the beautiful guests:
Jessima, Rachel and Kate.

Kaili painted Abby a wonderful little
picture as a gift for Maggie's room, which Abby absolutely loved!

Beautiful sisters, Abby and Jessima!

There were 16 guests in all.

After most of the guests had left,
Abby's friend Lizzie, who is a photographer, showed us how to do some trick camera shots... Here is Bethany - not getting punched... :)

And Lizzie, also not being punched -
by Bethany.

Jenna was finally allowed to graze on the leftovers at the table with her Nan, Jessima's mother, Michelle.
Jonny had taken her out for some fun time with her dad.
